SBU Crime Watch: April 2 – April 8

All reports are taken directly from the University Police Department and cannot be independently verified by The Statesman. 

On Tuesday, April 2, theft of a scooter was reported from the Chemistry Building. The case is still open.

On Thursday, April 4, there was a report of a vehicle driving through the gate arm, causing damage in the East Campus Health Sciences Center Garage. The case is still open.

On Thursday, April 4, the theft of an electric bicycle was reported from the Indoor Practice Facility. The case is still open.

On Thursday, April 4, there was a report of unauthorized charges on a dining card in East Side Dining. The case is still open. 

On Thursday, April 4, there was a report of damage to a parked and unattended vehicle in Staff Lot A. An MV104 was completed and the case is still open.

On Friday, April 5, there was a report of lost car keys in West E Apartments. The case is still open. 

On Friday, April 5, there was a report of an accident involving two state vehicles leaving the scene. An MV104a was completed in front of a West H apartment. The case was closed. 

On Friday, April 5, there was a report of a student receiving unwanted phone calls and texts in the Baruch Hall Residential Hall Director Office. The case was closed by student referral. 

On Friday, April 5, there was a report of an intoxicated male in Langmuir Hall. The Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported him to Stony Brook University Hospital. The case was closed.

On Saturday, April 6, there was a report of a missing package in Ammann Hall. The case is still open. 

On Sunday, April 7, there was a report of an individual pulling a fire alarm pull station in Stony Brook University Hospital. An arrest was made. 

On Sunday, April 7, there was a report of a student receiving possible scam phone calls in James Hall. The case is still open.

On Monday, April 8, there was a report of a missing scooter that was recovered and returned to the owner in the Student Activities Center. The case was closed. 

On Monday, April 8, there was a report of a wanted suspect that fled from officers. The suspect was found in possession of a controlled substance and a cutting tool. An arrest was made in Irving Hall.
