SBU Crime Watch: April 9 – April 13

All reports are taken directly from the University Police Department and cannot be independently verified by The Statesman. 

On Tuesday, April 9, there was a report of a fraudulent check scam in the Stony Brook Union. The case is still open.

On Tuesday, April 9, there was a report of a stolen scooter in the bicycle rack from the Stony Brook Long Island Rail Road Parking Lot. The case is still open.

On Tuesday, April 9, there was a report of missing headphones in the Staller Center for the Arts. The case was closed after the victim refused to cooperate.

On Wednesday, April 10, there was a report of a visitor who made a threat toward another visitor in the Stony Brook University Hospital. Prosecution declined to prosecute but the case is still open.  

On Thursday, April 11, there was a report of missing laboratory equipment in the Chemistry Building. The case was closed.

On Thursday, April 11, there was a report of a missing scooter from Frey Hall. The case is still open. 

On Friday, April 12, there was a report of a graffiti tag on the tunnel wall of the Life Sciences Tunnel. The case is still open. 

On Friday, April 12, there was a report of an intoxicated individual who entered a student’s room in O’Neill Hall. The individual was not present upon the University Police Department’s arrival. The case is still open. 

On Friday, April 12, there were reports of unwanted harassing phone calls in the Health Sciences Center. The case was closed by investigation.

On Friday, April 12, there was a report of concerning behavior in the Union. The case was closed by student referral.

On Saturday, April 13, there was a report of a damaged motorcycle seat near Toscanini Hall. The case is still open.
