Stony Brook Women’s Track and Field multi runner junior Alyssa Oviasogie immortalized herself in program history by becoming the program’s first Pentathlon Metropolitan Champion earlier this month.
Friday was a historic day for Stony Brook Track and Field at the Fastrack National Invitational, as sophomore mid-distance runner Luke Coulter of the Men’s team broke the program record for the 800 meter race with a time of 1:52.44. “Luke was certainly the star of the day, he ran a perfect tactical race, positioned himself well throughout the race and ran confidently to the finish line,” head coach Andy Ronan said in a press release.
The Stony Brook track and field teams had four first-place finishes on Saturday, Feb. 3 as the squad headed to Staten Island for the Metropolitan Championships.

The men's and women's track teams competed at the Metropolitan Championships in Staten Island last Friday, where the women's team placed fourth overall.
The Stony Brook Women’s Track and Field team had four first place finishes as both the men’s and women’s track teams competed in the Penn 8-Team Select on Monday.
The women poured in 44 points from the field events, combining with 67 points from the track events to end the championship in fourth place with 111 points.
