Stony Brook University students and administrative staff joined together in a Black Lives Matter protest and rally organized by the Stony Brook NAACP on Oct. 22. The Black Lives Matter movement returned to public attention during the global George Floyd protests this past summer. Participants in the movement have demonstrated against the deaths of numerous African Americans by the police. President Maurie McInnis was among the staff members who came out to the protest.
