George Caratzas, Assistant Sports Editor

George Caratzas is an Assistant Sports Editor of The Statesman. He is a sophomore majoring in journalism and minoring in creative writing, hoping to become a sports broadcaster. He is the beat reporter for the Stony Brook baseball and women’s volleyball teams. In his time at The Statesman, he has also covered the softball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse and football teams while also contributing to the multimedia section. He was previously the sports editor of his high school’s newspaper, The Focus at John Jay High School.
