Spring is that odd season in between winter and summer. Sometimes it is too cold, too warm, or too humid and then suddenly it starts to rain.
Stony Brook students are sporting all kinds of 2014 spring fashion trends. Floral headbands, wedge sneakers and micro bangs are just a few of the many things to look out for this season around campus.
“It was really nice to see the campus come alive with these bright colors after that long, cold winter,” said Radhika Sharma, a sophmore biology major and women’s studies minor and former online fashion blogger for CollegeFashionista.
Toss a denim jacket over a sundress or high-waisted shorts if it gets breezy. Maxi skirts are good for the spring and summer. Wear a crop top, tribal prints and harem pants for the bohemian look. Neon and pastel colors pop in the sun, but if you want to tone it down go for some floral prints.
“The variety of bold colors and prints tend to make a come back every spring just because the weather starts to get nicer and happier people tend to gravitate towards brighter colors,” Sharma said. “Just in general, the spring and summer are the seasons to experiment with unique patterns.”
