Editorial: The Statesman has extensively covered the pandemic. Even though we were all going through these changes at the same time, our experiences were all unique. These are our tales.
Editorial: Let your voices be heard. It's simple to achieve change and improved coverage: it all starts with stories. A fundamental idea that can and will continue to bring people together.
Now, in 2021, we must change in order to serve our campus community for another 60 years to come. Due to challenges brought on by the pandemic and the shifting business of journalism, The Statesman will stop producing its weekly newspaper version indefinitely.
The one thing we do know for sure is that the piling weight of uncertainty is unfair to SBU’s faculty and students. Simply addressing the rumors and telling us what they are just as unsure of what to do would suffice.
"Advice and Beyond," The Statesman's new advice column, will be used to offer a second perspective to issues students may be facing and answer questions they may have — whether it be academic or personal.
