In their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance, the Stony Brook women's soccer team fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes 5-1 in the first round on Wednesday, April 28 in Cary, North Carolina.
The Stony Brook's women soccer team hosted the Maine Black Bears on Sunday, March 28. The Seawolves won the match 3-1, remaining unbeaten at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium this season.
"UAlbany was a very well-coached team and they are a handful offensively,” head coach Tobias Bischof said in a press release. “We thought we had a good game plan and we did a good job of following it, taking advantage of the chances we had. We work on set pieces a lot in practice so it was nice to see us take advantage tonight.”
Stony Brook Women’s Soccer picked up its second consecutive win on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, breezing past the Binghamton Bobcats 4-0.
The Seawolves took over against the Gaels in enemy territory on Wednesday, Sept. 12, securing their second consecutive 4-0 victory and evening their record at 4-4.
With Stony Brook Women’s Soccer entering the 2018 season as defending America East champion, confidence in the team has never been higher. Last year’s accomplishments have not translated into expectations, however, and head coach Brendan Faherty is focused on a fresh start with this year’s squad.
The 33rd-minute goal, which sealed Stony Brook’s second-ever America East title, is arguably the highlight of senior forward Manuela Corcho’s college career.
