On Sunday, June 7, about 500 local residents gathered at the Freeport Long Island Rail Road train station in Freeport, NY to protest in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and insist on justice for George Floyd. The Nassau County Police Department walked alongside protestors throughout the entire protest. Residents marched through Freeport, took a detour to the Freeport Nautical Mile and then walked to the neighboring town of Merrick. Photos by Assistant News Editor Maya Brown.
