Despite the commotion through the start of midterms, the advent of autumn celebration took over the SAC Plaza and the outside of the University Bookstore. The Office of the Provost Liaison and WUSB 90.1 sponsored a Fall Community Festival on Wednesday, complete with arts and crafts and inflatable obstacle courses. Participants painted pumpkins, raced their friends in bouncy courses and listened to rhythm and blues artists Alinda Askew and Rich Fantasia. Studio 97, the salon in the bottom of the Union, gave out free pink hair extensions and in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Campus Dietician Tina Tiernan gave out vegetarian food samples from the brand new Green Street Café. The University Bookstore held a sidewalk sale and let people spin a wheel for free prizes.
