Senior Anthony Jackson was named America East Player of the Week after back-to-back career high-scoring nights. He averaged 23 points in Stony Brook’s two victories this past weekend.
This is the 13th time a Seawolf has won this honor, and it is Jackson’s first. Jackson had a career-high 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting in the Seawolves 71-55 victory over Marist on Friday. He then scored 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting in Stony Brook’s 81-65 win over Haverford Sunday.
This was the first time Jackson scored 20 points in back-to-back games. He also averaged four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the games. Jackson is in his second season as the starting point guard for the Seawolves and is only 292 points away from 1000 for his career. Jackson also finds himself in the school’s Division I top ten in three-pointers made with 117.
Stony Brook will host Northeastern University Wednesday night at Pritchard Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
