Bryson Tiller will no longer headline Brookfest 2023, as stated in an announcement made on the Undergraduate Student Government’s (USG) official Instagram account Saturday.
The cancellation was due to “circumstances beyond [USG’s] control,” according to the Instagram post. Rappers Fivio Foreign and Sevyn Streeter are still scheduled to perform on April 14 at the Island Federal Arena.
In an Instagram post, Tiller said his right eardrum is “severely damaged,” and that flying could cause permanent damage. Tiller also cancelled an upcoming show in Toronto.
While the event is not being postponed, ticket sales have been paused online.
“USG is working diligently to secure another headliner and will keep you updated,” according to the Instagram post. “At this time, ticket sales have currently been put on hold.”
USG has not specified whether or not ticket refunds will be available. As of press time, all floor tickets have been sold out. The Statesman has reached out to USG for comment.
USG has removed any previous mention of Bryson Tiller or official advertisements of the event from their website and social media accounts.
