Stony Brook University Fire Marshals are currently containing and cleaning a laboratory freezer between the Chemistry building and Frey Hall, according to campus safety department officials.
Campus Safety advised students to stay away from the area in an email at 9:13 a.m. The operation will continue throughout the day and another email will be sent once the space is confirmed safe.
The laboratory freezer, which came out of the Chemistry Building, contains chemicals that can be dangerous to humans. Fire marshals are safely disposing of the chemicals throughout the day.
