The Stony Brook softball team’s starting pitching was once again dominant over the weekend, as the Seawolves swept Maine in a three-game set. The three victories extended the team’s winning streak to ten and helped SBU inch closer to clinching the top seed in the America East tournament.
While the students were away on their spring breaks, the Stony Brook Softball team was red-hot, winning five of their six games played over the break.
The Seawolves hosted the Stony Brook Invitational over the first weekend, March 15 and 16 but Mother Nature played a role, cancelling Saturday’s action.
Stony Brook softball had an impressive weekend, sweeping UMBC on the road in Baltimore with a combined score of 34-4. Thanks partly to freshman Allison Cukrov’s record-tying 11th shutout of the season, the Seawolves improved to 8-1 in the America East.
