On Feb. 27, the Stony Brook men’s club rugby team participated in a Red Watch Band training session to learn how to handle alcohol overdose situations. In an effort to get other student clubs and organizations involved, the team challenged three other sports clubs to also participate in the training.
The Red Watch Band program has been running for five years at Stony Brook University. As part of a new push to have more students participate in the training, the organization introduced the Red Watch Band Care Team. The team is coming up with new ways to engage students to be part of the Red Watch Band community and aims to raise awareness of alcohol overdose and alcohol-related issues.
