Returning to Pritchard Gymnasium from its first defeat in America East conference play, the Stony Brook men’s basketball team defeated the University of New Hampshire Wildcats 61 to 52.
It was a tightly contested battle for the vast majority of the game, but the Seawolves took control of the game midway through the second half, striving on to their fifth conference victory and stretched their home winning streak to nine games.
Despite not having their best scoring game of the season, the Seawolves were able to hold the Wildcats to below their season average in points. New Hampshire made a late drive to bring itself to within even with Stony Brook, but it would prove to be too late for any substantial comeback.
