Stony Brook’s 12 sacks on the day was the most of any NCAA Division I team this season, leading the way in a 14-9 victory over Howard at LaValle Stadium on Saturday.
The Stony Brook Football team returns to action this Saturday afternoon at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, facing Howard University, looking to win its first game since Sep. 19.
2015 has been the worst season in head coach Chuck Priore’s decade-long tenure with the Stony Brook Football team. The Seawolves have now lost five consecutive games.
“He’s got a shoulder injury and he’s out for the year,” head coach Chuck Priore said in the weekly CAA Football Coaches Teleconference. “There will be no more progressing.”
The Frank Conti '11 Memorial Spring Game took place at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with the Black (defense) team defeated the Red (offense) team 22-17.
Stony Brook’s strength on offense has definitely been their rushing attack, with four very capable backs in Stacey Bedell, Marcus Coker, James Kenner and Tyler Fredericks.
After a shaky start in the first quarter, Seawolves fans held their breath as the team once again looked shaky offensively, until the running game caught fire.
After entering the Colonial Athletic Association in 2013, the Seawolves had their worst season in terms of record since 2008. Tough matchups and injuries made the transition all the more difficult.
