The once-popular theatre major at Stony Brook University disappeared in a nondramatic fashion. Although this change incited little fanfare, it affected students nonetheless. In 2016, the theatre major at the University was thriving.
Budget problems are not solved overnight. Drastic measures have been and will continue to be taken, but efforts must be made to localize and reduce the damage so that the university can emerge minimally scathed.
