In their regular season finale, the Seawolves (17-12, 11-7 CAA) traveled to New Jersey to take on the Monmouth Hawks on Saturday. Even a 19-2 run over the last five minutes of the game could not stop Stony Brook from falling to the Hawks, 72-71.
Costly turnovers prevented the Stony Brook women’s basketball team from pulling off a comeback against the Towson Tigers on Thursday, dropping it to fourth place in the conference.
On Friday night, the Seawolves (10-6, 4-1 CAA) returned home to Island Federal Arena to host the Monmouth Hawks. Stony Brook overcame a slow start to bring home a 69-59 victory.
Facing the Drexel Dragons in Philadelphia on Sunday, the Seawolves (9-6, 3-1 CAA) looked to hand them their first loss of the conference season. However, they were fiercely outshot by the preseason favorites and lost 81-64, marking the program’s first-ever defeat in the CAA.
