After years of goose fecal matter dotting campus and birds walking across streets, Stony Brook University is taking measures to remove the estimated 360 Canada geese that have made the campus home for the past several years.
The university approved a new on-campus animal policy in July, Policy 620, which states that “Animals are prohibited from all University buildings, athletic facilities, and outdoor events, unless otherwise permitted by this or other University policy” according to the University Policy Manual.
Along with the wide-eyed freshman and transfer students, Stony Brook University has many new features to offer the students this fall semester and the upcoming semesters. And for the residents of the dormitories, new rules and regulations have been imposed.
