Dr. Michael E. Mann, a prominent climate scientist, geophysicist and professor of atmospheric science at Pennsylvania State University, came to Stony Brook University’s Earthstock celebration on Friday, April 19, where he was the university’s keynote speaker.

The Stony Brook University Environmental Club celebrated Earthstock last week by teaching the campus community about living sustainably.

The annual campus Earthstock event celebrated Earth Day with entertainment, music and educational opportunities on April 21.

The event was one of several Earthstock events in which students and faculty were able to join a growing movement of support for the planet and indigenous people.

Stony Brook was named the winner of the National Association for Campus Activities’ 2017 “Your Best Campus Tradition” video competition, in honor of its annual Roth Regatta.

Although students were studying for final exams, they decided to relieve some stress by watching SB Live perform their End of the Semester Gig on Dec. 8 in Student Activities Center Ballroom A.

Earthstock successfully had another year of getting the message out to people to help get involved and protect the environment.

One show that stood out at this year's Earthstock was the Color Guard and Drumline Showcase.The showcase was held at the Staller Steps at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
