There was a shot to win in regulation — a few shots, to be exact. They couldn’t be converted however, and the Stony Brook women’s basketball team wouldn’t find another in overtime.
Stony Brook (10-6) continued the domination in the series, winning its 19th consecutive game against Maine (4-11) to extend a streak that dates back to 2010.
Redshirt-sophomore forward Akwasi Yeboah made a layup with 44 seconds remaining in the game to give Stony Brook Men’s Basketball a lead they would not relinquish on Sunday afternoon.
Iroegbu banked home a three-fourths court shot at the end of the first half, and the Seawolves used that shot to coast to an 81-68 victory over the UMass Lowell River Hawks on Thursday night at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena.
