The passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Sept. 8, with her son King Charles III ascending the throne soon after, sparked discussions about the possibly oppressive legacy she has left behind. Though Queen Elizabeth's reign was largely apolitical, the importance of the royal family is now being called under question.
