For the past 20 years, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) has been developing new tools for understanding and predicting the impacts of climate change. Stony Brook University manages BNL and has been listed as the single largest user of the laboratory’s facilities.

Beginning this semester, dorm inspections will now be conducted by the Campus Residences Department of Safety and Support. In the past, Residential Assistants (RAs) were responsible for this procedure each semester. 

Despite efforts to address sexual misconduct on campus, the ReportIt program shows little evidence of making Stony Brook University a safer environment. 

Rachel Riddle, a sophomore psychology major at Stony Brook University, founded the Eczema Advocacy Network (EAN) in Fall 2022 to build a community and raise awareness for people with eczema and other chronic conditions. 

The Iranian Graduate Student Association (IGSA) collaborated with the Department of History to host an event chronicling the history of feminism in Iran and demonstrate support and solidarity for Iranian women. 

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, the celebration took place at the Zodiac Gallery in the Charles B. Wang Center and was attended by about 50 students, faculty, New York Blood Center representatives and local legislators. 

Ethnic student organizations are widely considered some of the most important student clubs. They provide environments that allow for connections between students who share a cultural identity.
