Students deserve a university they can actually enjoy

I did not care much for the Kaku lectures simply due to my tendency to enjoy the social sciences, however I am finding myself overwhelmed with anticipation for Brookfest. That is why, upon finding out that some students who are in BIO 202 will be unable to attend Brookfest, I became outraged. Discovering that some students taking an Organic Chemistry midterm were unable to attend the Kaku lecture only furthered my anger.

When students in a freshman seminar class are asked about their intended majors, an overwhelming amount answer biology and pre-med. Their first steps in the door to college are prerequisite classes such as General Chemistry (CHE 131/132). This class can be a challenge for a first semester freshman that is trying to maintain their social life, grades and overall health during the transition from high school to college. At Stony Brook University, there are many resources and opportunities for chemistry students to get the extra help and review that they need.
