March 11, 2009 — Stony Brook University has reported that a student of the university, Andrew Mineo, died in his room on campus Tuesday evening. Mineo, a senior psychology major, resided in Hendrix College in Roth Quad.
“Cause of death has not yet been determined and is under investigation by the Suffolk County Police Department and the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office,” according to the university’s report.
Funeral arrangements are being made by family, and those who would like details about the funeral can call the Office of the Dean of Students at 632-7320.
Those who wish to seek support can call the University Counseling Center at 632-6720, the Center for Prevention and Outreach at 632-2748, or the Employee Assistance Program at 632-6085.
