Stony Brook University has canceled Stony Brook Day in Albany because of “anticipated hazardous weather and roadway conditions,” according to a report from the University Emergency Operations Center.
The cancellation of this year’s Albany Day puts an end to the consecutive, 13-year-long tradition that the school has used to show state officials in Albany the importance of supporting Stony Brook University.
This announcement also comes less than a day after the university announced classes and events being held on Monday across it’s West, Southampton and Manhattan campuses were canceled because of harsh weather conditions that started Sunday evening.
