Two robberies were reported last week near the West Apartments, according to Robert Lenahan, chief of police. The first robbery occurred on Nov. 23 at approximately 10:15 p.m. as a female student returned to her residence and was approached by a male, described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, having a medium build, curly brown hair, mustache or goatee and wearing a hooded sweatshirt, according to Lenahan. The male demanded money and then fled with $100. No physical injuries were reported.
The second robbery occurred on Nov. 25 as an unidentified male approached another female student walking alone at 6:15 p.m. in the vicinity of West Apartments and grabbed her pocketbook, according to Lenahan. The man, described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, having a thin build, short dark hair and wearing a black ski jacket, fled toward Kelly Quad. No injures were reported.
Both reports stated no weapons were displayed.
