Tuesday is Election Day, and any student who is registered to vote should make an effort to do so.
Voting will take place in Ballroom A of the Student Activities Center, and the polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Votes will be counted immediately after.
Be sure that you are carrying some form of photo ID when you go to vote.
There will be about six mechanical lever voting machines available for students to use on Tuesday.
Adam Peck, secretary of the College Democrats here at Stony Brook University, estimates that 3,500 students registered to vote this semester. Peck knows that the College Democrats registered 1,524 students, and the rest were registered through the university. The College Republicans did not register students, he said.
Registration forms were due on Oct. 10, and absentee ballots must be postmarked by Monday at least.
Please help out Stony Brook’s School of Journalism by participating in the exit poll as you leave from voting.
