A male, commuter student at Stony Brook University was robbed on Nov. 14 at midnight.
The incident took place around “a lighted pathway between Kelly Quad and Kelly Parking Lot,” wrote Richard Young, the University Police Chief, in an email addressed to all faculty, staff and students.
Two unknown males approached the victim and removed his property by the threat of force. The victim was not injured.
The student described both suspects as males in their mid 20s around 190 to 200 pounds wearing jeans and dark hooded sweatshirts.
According to Young, University Police along with the Suffolk County Police Department are currently conducting an investigation and patrols have been increased across the campus.
This is the fourth reported attack in a period of one month where students were robbed and threatened with bodily harm.
Students are encouraged to contact University Police by dialing 911 if any suspicious behavior is noted.
