Seawolves play Hartford to 0-0 Stalemate
On Oct. 10, Stony Brook (SB) played a scoreless tie at home with conference rival Hartford. SB controlled the play against Hartford, launching 14 shots, with eight of them hitting the target. Petar Rakovic and Mahamadou Simpara led the team with two shots on goal each.
Goaltender Dawid Ditrich played the entire 110 minutes, but did not have to make any saves, as none of the eight shots attempted by Hartford were on goal. SB’s best chances came in the first overtime, when Mark Secko, Sebastian Villa, and Petar Rakovic were all stopped by Hartford goaltender Matt Glaesar.

Men’s soccer concluded their successful week on Oct. 13 with a 1-0 home victory over Vermont.
SB’s second game of the week also went into overtime. Matt Avellino finally broke the scoreless tie against Vermont 44 seconds into the extra period
Once again, SB attempted more shots than their opponent. Simpara attempted a team high five of the team’s 12 shots, while Vermont only attempted six shots as a team. Ditrich picked up his second straight shutout, making four saves in the game
SB continues their America East conference schedule this weekend with a game at Boston University on homecoming Saturday, Oct. 20.
