There are some events that traditionally show up during the Christmas break. For example, a Candlelight House Tour is sponsored by the Three Village Historical Society. It is a walking tour, conducted by candlelight and focuses on historic buildings and homes in the Three Village area. An annual Holiday Craft Fair & Flea Market is held by the Three Village Community & Youth Services (CYS) at Ward Melville High School.
A Holiday Festival takes place at the Stony Brook Village Center. It includes Holiday music, tree lightings, and a visit from Santa. Ward Melville Heritage Organization hosts a Promenade of Trees at the Stony Brook Village Center. Even the Setauket Fire Dept. sponsors a Holiday Parade.
Join the Ronkokoma Chamber of Commerce for the Ronkokoma Holiday Tree Lighting at Raynor Beach County Park, Lake Ronkokoma, NY. This happens on Sunday, Dec. 3 from 3:30 to 6:30 PM. There will be music, gifts, fun for everyone. Little Mr. and Miss Ronkonkoma 2007 will be crowned.
The McGuires Holiday Fellowship is celebrating their Fourth Annual Holiday Charity Auction. All proceeds will benefit the Gift of Life Program, which provides life saving heart operations to children of third world countries. The dinner will be followed by a comedy show. Suggested donation is $40 per person. The event is at McGuires Restaurant and Comedy Club, which is located at 1627 Smithtown Ave in Bohemia, NY. It will take place on Dec. 5 at 5:00 PM.
Hungry during the chilling snow? Attend the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society’s sumptuous buffet, which will host many choices, including chicken, fish, beef, pasta, salad, dessert. Tickets are $35 and need to be sent in by Dec. 8.
St. Joseph’s is celebrating Christmas with Breakfast with St. Nicholas. On Dec. 9 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, join them in Carew Hall. Fee is $5 for adults and children $3. The event will feature a children’s craft table and photographs will be available. If you don’t want to travel far from Stony Brook, go to the Holiday Gift Sale and Silent Auction. Sponsored by the hospital’s Auxiliary, it will take place on Monday, Dec. 11 from 9:00 AM through 2:00 PM in the vendor area by the deli.
Brookhaven Brite Nights will take place nightly except on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 from 5:30 PM through 9:30 PM. You can drive through a breath-taking wonderland of lights at $12 per carload. If this not for you, then on Dec. 9 at 7:00 PM, attend a Christman party, fundraiser, and Chinese auction. The event will take place at the Ronkonkoma Fire District Building, opposite Agnew & Taylor.
