Stony Brook fans packed the Island Federal Arena to support their team on Wednesday, Jan. 26 against Vermont.
This was the first game since the spring semester started, and the Seawolves started with an early lead. The Catamounts were not so easily broken, though. By the first half Vermont led Stony Brook with a three-point lead. Into the second half, the Seawolves pushed back against the Catamounts, gaining a six-point lead. However, Vermont was not willing to relinquish the lead and responded by sinking the next five of their shots — four of which were from behind the 3-point line. Though they fought hard, Stony Brook lost 67-80. This was the second loss to Vermont this season, ending a seven game win streak at home.
The men’s basketball team was back home at the Island Federal Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 2, playing Binghamton University.
