The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) at Stony Brook University set the dates and timeline for student government elections for the upcoming fall semester.
The USG Senate confirmed members of the Elections Board on Thursday after the discovery that board members had not been vetted or confirmed for the past three years.
Concerns about the Elections Board were brought up at the most recent USG meeting, where it was revealed Elections Board members were never actually confirmed by the Senate.
Undergraduate Student Government elections closed on Friday, officially establishing junior biology major Garry Lachhar as the next president of USG and making the $99.50 student activity fee mandatory for undergraduate students for the next two years.
